Automation

The routine runs itself. You make the decisions.

Set the rules once. Automation carries out the work you authorize, step by step, in TruckerTech and in the systems you connect. Anything outside your rules waits for a person.

  1. Create the Core from the tender
  2. Send the rate confirmation for e-signature
  3. Record the driver the carrier names
  4. Request the appointment at the facilityA person decides
  5. Write the load into each connected system
  6. Chase proof of delivery
  7. Prepare and send the invoice when proof lands

Watch it run

One accepted tender: 7 steps, 2 decisions.

Each step shows the authority it runs under. Nothing shows as done until the system confirms. Where the facility’s window cannot work, Automation holds and asks a person.

1 / 8 A tender is accepted. Automation starts the workflow Example Broker turned on, with every step queued and the authority it runs under beside it.

How it works

Six things that are always true.

Every workflow on this page works the same way, whichever role or function it serves.

  1. A trigger starts it

An event on a load, a schedule you set, a person starting it, or an event from a connected system. Every run begins with a recorded event.

  2. Steps run in order

A workflow is a list of registered actions. A step is done only when the system it wrote to confirms, and a partial result stays visible.

  3. Under the authority you grant

Every workflow belongs to a person or an organization and can do exactly what that owner could do. Remove a permission and the next run stops.

  4. A preview before anything material

Anything that changes freight, money or permissions shows its target, the authority it needs, who approves and who will see it, before it runs.

  5. Undo where it can be undone

Where an action can be reversed, it can be. A correction is a new entry that supersedes the old one; where an action cannot be reversed, it waits for a person.

  6. Every action in the audit trail

Each run, hold, approval and refusal is recorded: who acted, on whose authority, in which system, and when.

The authority you grant

You decide what runs and what waits.

An owner or administrator chooses which steps Automation may run on its own and which always wait for a person. Limits and off switches apply to the organization, one workflow, one action and one owner.

  • Runs on its own

Routine steps inside the authority you granted: creating a Core, attaching proof, telling the people on a load, asking for a document.

  • Waits for a person

Anything that changes freight, money or permissions. High-impact steps can need two approvers, and a timeout escalates rather than approves.

  • Never runs

Anything outside the granted authority, anything not registered, and anything unclear. It holds, with a reason and an owner.

What Automation never does

Fast, and never loose.

These are the limits that make it safe to let the routine run.

  • Never: act beyond the authority you granted. A workflow can do what its owner could do, and no more.
  • Never: write to a connected system without confirmation. It writes only where it is allowed, makes sure the write happens once, and reconciles the result with the system’s answer.
  • Never: approve for a person. People approve what policy says they must. A timeout escalates; it never approves.
  • Never: guess. Anything unclear, unregistered or contradictory holds, visibly, with an owner.
  • Never: change where money is paid. A new remit-to is held for independent verification, and a document can never redirect payment.
  • Never: widen anyone’s permissions. Paying for Automation adds what it can do with the permissions you already have.

Pricing

Added by the person or company that wants it.

Taking part in a Core is always free. Automation is an add-on to a plan, and paying for it never expands what anyone is allowed to do.

  • Personal$29 per user per month
  • Organization$99 per organization per month
  • Each user on an Organization plan$9 per user per month
  • Managed driver$9 per driver per month · Includes that driver’s Voice and ID Secure
  • Managed Core$0.50 per managed Core
